Factories in Europe Grow at Fastest Rate in Over 4 Years
WHAT HAPPENED
Eurozone factories accelerated in August: the production index rose from 51.9 to 52.7 points, its best level since May 2022. Actual production reached 53.3.
WHY IT MATTERS
Above 50 means that more factories are producing than those that are producing less. Orders also grew, including from abroad. This boosts employment, overtime, and purchases of chemicals, metals, and electronic components.
AND FOR YOUR PORTFOLIO
It is a sign of recovery for a Europe that has been weak. It could benefit industrial companies and support the euro if the recovery continues. For wallets, a more active economy can sustain jobs and sales.
💬 TELL IT LIKE THIS
