China exported 24% more in July; chips explain the jump
WHAT HAPPENED
China's exports increased 23.9% in July compared to the previous year, more than expected. Chips nearly doubled their export value and high-tech products grew 40.7%.
WHY IT MATTERS
The world continues to buy Chinese technology for cell phones, computers, and artificial intelligence data centers. This drives factories, ports, freight, and logistics, even though other industrial sectors in the country have cooled.
AND FOR YOUR PORTFOLIO
For a long-term portfolio, the data shows that global spending on artificial intelligence still supports the semiconductor industry. It may also keep supply chains busy and support transportation and logistics companies in Asia.
💬 TELL IT LIKE THIS
“China is selling much more to the world because artificial intelligence keeps the demand for chips alive.”
