Spain votes on November 29: early general elections
WHAT HAPPENED
Spain will hold early general elections on November 29, after Congress rejected the housing decrees of Pedro Sánchez's government. The parties still do not have complete economic programs.
WHY IT MATTERS
The outcome will determine which fiscal plan can advance. Sánchez proposes to spend up to €226.032 billion in 2027 and reduce debt; the PP and Vox rejected it. They also propose different tax cuts, which would affect bills, food, and corporate profits.
AND FOR YOUR PORTFOLIO
For households, the proposals could change the cost of electricity, gas, and basic food items. For long-term investments, the outcome may influence energy, consumer, and other Spanish businesses, although the figures may still change.
